Welcome to South Perth Centennial Public School!

Located in the Township of Perth South near St. Marys, Ontario, South Perth Centennial Public School (SPCPS) is a Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 school serving approximately 205 students. Established in 1967 to mark Canada’s 100th birthday, SPCPS has a rich history and continues to serve as a cornerstone of education and community in the area.

A Focus on Rural Education and Community Values

At SPCPS, we combine the very best of rural education with the strong community values that define our school. Our dedicated staff work closely with parents to create a nurturing environment where students master essential skills in reading, writing, and numeracy while also developing 21st-century learning skills. We are committed to providing a positive, inclusive, and equitable learning environment for all students, fostering a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom.

A Campus that Inspires Learning

Our school grounds are a hub of outdoor activity and learning. With an expansive area featuring playgrounds, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, a sand volleyball court, and a gaga ball pit, there is no shortage of space for students to play, explore, and learn. Our arboretum, in particular, offers a unique setting for both outdoor play and as an outdoor classroom—an opportunity for students to connect with nature while gaining valuable hands-on experiences.

Strong Parental and Community Involvement

We believe that parental involvement is key to the success of our students, both academically and socially. SPCPS is proud to have a supportive school community where parents, families, and local volunteers play an active role in enhancing the learning environment. From helping with our reading program to assisting with our snack program, the contributions of our community make a tangible difference every day. Our dedicated School Council works tirelessly to fundraise and provide a variety of opportunities for our students, ensuring that each child has access to enriching experiences both inside and outside the classroom.

A School for the Future

SPCPS is more than just a place of learning—it's a vibrant, inclusive, and forward-thinking community. As we continue to evolve, we remain committed to the core values outlined in the Avon Maitland District School Board’s (AMDSB) strategic plan: I am Well. I am Prepared. I am Engaged. These pillars guide our approach to education and help us ensure that every student is supported, challenged, and given the tools they need to succeed.
We are excited to continue working alongside our students and families to create an environment where learning thrives. If you have any questions, concerns, or celebrations to share, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are here to support you!

Get Involved

We encourage all families to get involved in our school community. If you would like to volunteer or join our School Council, please contact your child’s teacher or the school office. Please note that volunteers require a vulnerable sector check.
